A custom post type can become the content source for a taxonomy, an ACF field group and a display shortcode. Relationships are resolved before preview, validation and packaging.

Keep machine keys stable

Changing a post type or taxonomy key after a plugin has stored content may disconnect existing records. Change labels freely, but treat machine keys as infrastructure.
